We spent most of Saturday at our Grandpa’s ranch, about fifteen minutes outside of Madison. This is actually the location that we shot at for our Fall / Winter 2009 Lookbook. Speaking of Lookbooks, we’ve got some cool surprises coming up later this week in terms of bringing out some Holiday goodies. Nothing huge, just some Check Your Six fun to get you through the weather. Cheers!
It’s unreal…looking back to where all of this started, and how far this brand has come. And as much as the road traveled has been due to our efforts, it just wouldn’t be right to pretend that the credit is due entirely to us. Check Your Six is what it is today because of all of you. So thank you. To our supporters, our retailers, our doubters, our partners, our suppliers, our friends. Everybody. Thank you.
School locked down. Brother Business partner on the way to Madison. Time for some photo fun. The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.
Each summer, for about the last ten years, the Check Your Six team leaves the lower forty-eight and heads to The Final Frontier. Alaska.
Chandalar Lake, Alaska, to be precise. 190 miles north of Fairbanks, and 60 miles to the nearest town, person, or telephone; the stay is seclusion at its finest. When you’re at Chandalar, nothing matters. It doesn’t matter who the President is, it doesn’t matter what movies are in theaters, it doesn’t matter who won the Super Bowl. The experience is once in a lifetime. And fortunately, we get to experience it every summer.
I spent the better half of the morning perusing the infamous farmer’s market here in Madison. Selection of goodies made my first experience at the market a great one. Fresh honey, squeaky cheese curds, and some goodies for my roommate Greg dog, Lance. Really can’t beat it.
