A Pillow of Winds

It’s been a relatively slow start to the week. Weather today got absolutely incredible towards the later part of the afternoon, so I took the camera out and did some sight-seeing. It was nice to start off the week slowly…the rest of the week is just going to get more and more hectic. Tomorrow I’ll be married to the post office, Wednesday we’re paying Vince at VS a visit, and the rest of the week we’re doing final preparations for Soundset. Anyways, here’s a few shots from the day to hopefully brighten your day. Cheers!

Comfort Zone

Madison – Chapter I is officially over…and now it’s back to Minneapolis for the summer. I went to a few shops around town today, shot the breeze and got the low on how Minneapolis has been the past few weeks (apparently very similar to how Madison has been). Cal Surf was first up to bat. I stocked them with some additional sizes of some Spring tees, so stop in if you’re in the area!

After Cal Surf I enjoyed the nice weather and walked around the area. The weather in Minnesota is too nice right now not to be outside at least two hours a day. That’s why I’m working on my vertical. That’s right. Outdoor slam dunking. Get it.

After lake-hopping I rolled through downtown Minneapolis and headed to the other side of town to pay a quick visit to the guys at Mindstate Distribution.

As The Wheel Turns

Last weekend the U.S. Collegiate National Cycling Championships were held in Madison, WI. We went down to the capital building area to check out the crit action. Always exciting to see dudes gunning around at 30 mph, normally get to see a few crashes. Photos courtesy of our friend Steve.

Back to Basics – Minneapolis

The ultimate t-shirt entrepreneur, Johnny Cupcakes, has been on a month-long “suitcase” tour around the country to connect with his fans and followers. He has documented the entire journey, dedicating each city their own clip…giving everybody an opportunity to feel part of the family. Johnny is an inspiration to everybody in the industry, using innovative and creative campaigns to create a worldwide following and loyal fan base.

A few days ago he made his way to Minneapolis, stopping at a local shop called Robot Love. I loved when one of the guys in the video says, “Nobody cool ever comes to Minnesota…ever…it’s the worst.” I’m not sure about that…but I guess we’re no New York? Anyways, the video is cool, I’m a fan of the editing more than anything. Cheers!

Mifflin 2010

Saturday, May 1st, marked the annual Mifflin Block Party celebration in Madison, Wisconsin. For those who don’t know, every year the weekend before finals, to mark the end of the school year, a rager of a block party is thrown on Mifflin Street. Everyone who lives on Mifflin buys kegs, opens their house to thousands of partiers, and good times are had all around.

Even cops tend to be pretty relaxed on Mifflin. Although they do give out a few hundred tickets every year.

This year over 10,000 people flooded the couple blocks that is Mifflin.

Those white balconies would also be packed with people had the cops not ushered people off moments prior. Even though it’s a pretty relaxed, party atmosphere, they definitely ‘keep everyone safe’.

What Goes Around Comes Around

We are proud to announce that Karmaloop will now be carrying Check Your Six products. As the largest online streetwear retailer, I doubt Karmaloop needs any introduction. We are super stoked to have them on board and this makes it easier for you CY6 fans who don’t have a local retailer to cop gear. Be sure to check it out Here.
